Cookie Policy

Last updated: 9 September 2026

This page explains, in plain English, how frankiekington.com uses cookies and similar technologies, why I use them, and how you can control them.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer, phone, or tablet when you visit it. Cookies help the website remember things about your visit, like whether you’ve seen a particular pop up before, or general information about how you found the site, so that it works properly and can be improved over time.

Some cookies are essential for the site to function; others help me understand how visitors use the site, and a few are set by third party tools I use (like Calendly or YouTube).

How I use cookies

1. Strictly necessary cookies

These are essential for the website to work properly, for example, remembering your cookie consent choice, or enabling the page caching that makes the site load faster (I use WP Rocket for this). The site can’t function properly without these, and they don’t require your consent under UK law.

2. Analytics cookies

I use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use my website, which pages are most popular, how people found the site, and roughly how long they spend on each page. This helps me improve the content and make sure the site is genuinely useful. This data is anonymised/aggregated where possible and is not used to identify you personally.

3. Functionality cookies

Some cookies remember choices you’ve made (for example, if you’ve already filled in a form or interacted with a widget) so you don’t have to repeat yourself on your next visit.

4. Third party embedded content cookies

Certain pages on this site embed content or widgets from third parties, each of which may set their own cookies when you interact with them:

I don’t control these third party cookies directly, they’re governed by each provider’s own cookie and privacy policy, which I’d encourage you to check if you want full detail.

Do I use marketing/advertising cookies?

I don’t currently run paid retargeting or advertising campaigns that track you across other websites. If this changes in the future, I will update this policy and ensure the appropriate consent mechanism is in place before any such cookies are set.

Your consent

When you first visit frankiekington.com, you should see a cookie notice giving you the choice to accept or manage cookies. Strictly necessary cookies will always be active, since the site can’t function without them, but you’re in control of analytics, functionality, and third party cookies.

You can change your mind at any time by clearing your cookie preferences through your browser settings or, where available, through the cookie preference tool on this site.

How to control or delete cookies through your browser

Every browser lets you view, manage, and delete cookies. Here’s where to find these settings in the most common browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
  • Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions

Please note that blocking or deleting cookies may affect how parts of the website work, for example, the booking widget or video embeds may not load properly.

Changes to this policy

I may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if I start using a new tool on the website. Any changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date.
