Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 September 2026

Hi, I’m Frankie Kington, and this is my privacy policy. I’ve tried to write it in plain English rather than dense legal language, because I believe you should actually be able to understand what happens to your information when you visit my website or work with me as a coach.

If anything here isn’t clear, please just email me at info@frankiekington.com and I’ll explain it properly.

Who I am

I am Frankie Kington, trading as Frankie Kington Coaching & Mentoring, operating from:

8 McCall Walk, Clayton, M11 4EY, Manchester, United Kingdom

For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), I am the “data controller” of the personal information you share with me through frankiekington.com. That means I’m responsible for deciding how and why your data is used, and for keeping it safe.

What information I collect

I only collect what I actually need to run my coaching practice and this website properly. Depending on how you interact with me, that might include:

Information you give me directly

  • Your name, email address and phone number when you fill in a contact form, book a discovery call, or message me on WhatsApp
  • Your email address when you sign up for my free e-book or newsletter
  • Details you share with me during coaching sessions, discovery calls, or in correspondence — this can include personal, sensitive information about your wellbeing, career situation, or life circumstances, because that’s the nature of coaching conversations
  • Payment and billing details if you become a paying client (I don’t store full card numbers myself — this is handled by my payment provider)
  • Testimonials or feedback you choose to give me, if you agree to it being published

Information collected automatically

  • Technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and general location (country/city level), collected when you browse the site
  • Pages you visit, how long you spend on them, and how you arrived at the site (e.g. via Google search or a social media link)
  • Cookie data — see my separate Cookie Policy for full detail on this

Why I use your information, and my legal basis for doing so

What I use it for My legal basis
Responding to your enquiry or booking request Legitimate interest / steps taken at your request before entering a contract
Delivering coaching sessions and managing our working relationship Performance of a contract
Sending you the free e-book you requested Consent
Sending occasional newsletters or updates about coaching, courses or events Consent (you can withdraw this any time)
Improving the website and understanding how visitors use it Legitimate interest
Keeping financial and invoicing records Legal obligation (UK tax law)
Handling a complaint or legal claim Legitimate interest / legal obligation

I will never sell your personal information to anyone, and I don’t share the details of what you tell me in coaching sessions with third parties, except where I’m legally required to (see “When I might share your information” below).

When I might share your information

I use a small number of trusted third-party services to run my business. They only ever get the minimum information needed to do their specific job:

  • Calendly — to manage discovery call bookings (your name, email, and chosen time slot)
  • WhatsApp (Meta) — if you choose to message me directly rather than email
  • Email marketing/newsletter software — to send the e-book and any newsletters you’ve opted into
  • Payment processing providers — to handle invoicing and payment if you become a client
  • Website hosting and technical providers — to keep the website itself running and secure
  • Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager — to understand overall site traffic (see Cookie Policy)

These providers are only permitted to use your data to provide the service to me — not for their own marketing purposes — and many are based outside the UK/EEA (for example, in the US). Where that’s the case, I only use providers that offer appropriate safeguards, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

I will also share information where I’m legally required to — for example, if requested by a court, regulator, or law enforcement body, or where I believe in good faith it’s necessary to protect someone’s safety.

How long I keep your information

I don’t keep information for longer than I need it. As a general guide:

  • Enquiry/contact form details: up to 12 months if you don’t become a client, then deleted
  • Client records and session notes: for the duration of our working relationship plus 6 years (in line with my professional insurance and UK financial record-keeping obligations)
  • Newsletter/e-book subscriber details: until you unsubscribe
  • Financial/invoicing records: 6 years, as required by HMRC

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information I hold about you
  • Correct it if it’s inaccurate or incomplete
  • Ask me to delete it, in certain circumstances
  • Restrict or object to how I use it
  • Ask for a copy in a portable format (data portability)
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis I’m relying on (e.g. unsubscribing from the newsletter)
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you think I’ve mishandled your data — you can reach them at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113

To exercise any of these rights, just email me at info@frankiekington.com. I’ll usually respond within one month.

How I keep your information secure

I take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information — including secure hosting, restricted access to client records, and only working with reputable third-party providers. That said, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so I can’t guarantee absolute security, but I do take this seriously.

Cookies

This website uses cookies to help it function properly and to understand how visitors use it. Full details are in my separate Cookie Policy, which forms part of this Privacy Policy.

Children’s privacy

My coaching services and this website are intended for adults. I don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided me with personal information, please contact me and I will delete it.

Links to other websites

My site occasionally links to other websites (for example, social media platforms, YouTube videos, or Calendly). I’m not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites, so I’d encourage you to read their own privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time — for example, if I start using a new tool or service. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “last updated” date. If the changes are significant, I’ll try to let existing subscribers/clients know directly.
